Emily Foshee
Executive Director
Emily is currently the
Executive Director of NIBA. Emily
was hired by NIBA in 1999 as
Operations Manager. In 2001 she
assumed the title of Director of
Conference Services. In 2002 Emily
was named Assistant Executive
Director and was appointed to
Executive Director in 2004. As
Executive Director, Emily works
jointly with the Board of Directors,
the Members, the Associate Members,
and Industry Partners to achieve the
goals and mission of NIBA. She works
extensively with the presenting
companies to coordinate their
presentations at all conferences and
to assist with their follow-up
during and after all meetings,
allowing for maximum exposure to the
broker dealer community. Emily has
worked to develop new marketing
techniques which utilize the
Internet, viral marketing, and
significant industry assets and
resources provided by the
Association.
Prior to NIBA, Emily worked for
Wachovia Bank (Charleston, South
Carolina) as Assistant to both the
Affluent Market Manager for Coastal
South Carolina and the Regional
Executive of Private Banking, where
she was the liasion between the
Executive level and Senior
Management. Emily's other positions
have included Assistant to the
Senior Vice President of the
Communications Department at Aon
Consulting (North Carolina),
Assistant to the Senior Vice
President of Marketing and the
Senior Vice President of the Special
Events for GBA Systems (North
Carolina), and as a fully licensed
Associate Agent with Nationwide
Insurance Company.
D. Scott Foshee
Chief Technology Officer
Scott is currently Chief
Information Officer for NIBA. Scott
oversees all computer information
and office systems, including the
computer system networking,
security, firewalls, and routers.
Scott supervises NIBA's internet web
site, builds and manages fax and
email lists, writes and maintains
the quarterly membership directory,
and creates the computerized
audio/visual informational
presentations given on a quarterly
basis at the NIBA Conferences. Scott
is also in charge of writing,
organizing, and conducting all
software training, as well as
supporting remote users.
Prior to NIBA, Scott worked at Ness
Motley Loadholt RIchardson & Pool
(Charleston, South Carolina) as a
Litigation Support Analyst. He also
worked at Womble Carlyle Sandridge &
Rice (North Carolina), Kilpatrick
Stockton (formerly Petree Stockton,
North Carolina), and The Bornn Firm
(formerly Law Offices of Edith L.
Bornn, St. Thomas, USVI). Scott was
also an intern for Senator Robert C.
Byrd, President Pro Tempore, U.S.
Senate, and Congressman Nick J.
Rahall, II, U.S. House of
Representatives. Scott attended
Southwestern University School of
Law School. Scott received his
Bachelor of Arts with a double major
in Political Science and Philosophy
and a minor in History from Emory
University (Atlanta, Georgia).
Amy Brickman
MemberShip Specialist
Amy is currently a Membership Specialist for NIBA. Amy's efforts are concentrated on member communication, especially in the areas of conference registration and in the recruitment of new NIBA Member and Associate Member firms. Amy also assists the Executive Director with the administrative and conference aspects of NIBA. Amy has 18 years of administrative experience in the private sector. Amy attended David Lipscomb University (Nashville, Tennessee) and the University of South Alabama (Mobile, Alabama).
